Visiting the temple

Proxy pilgrims are the dummies inside the cart– they are sent by people who can’t come themselves to tour the country and visit gods in different temples. They are wearing the shadows of the lanterns leading to the temple.

People come to this temple at a particular time because it is a stopping place for this particular kind of moth.  (This is a photo of a poster in the temple showing off how the moths hang out here for fun.)
