Temple on Alishan

  

People come to this temple at a particular time because it is a stopping place for this particular kind of moth.  (This is a photo of a poster in the temple showing off how the moths hang out here for fun.)

    Is that a swastika symbol 4th picture? Like made of candles?
    Nevermind. I used Wikipedia. Interesting history.

    Wikipedia is marvelous, isn’t it? I’ve gotten so used to seeing them around Buddhist temples– it didn’t even occur to me to think of it other than as a Buddhist symbol.
